About LRN

A LED Resource Network is a group of institutions with a least one representative from the local government, business, academe, and non-government organizations who are cooperating and sharing economic development programs, services, and resources to achieve common goals towards creating a local environment that is conducive to business growth and job creation.

Joining a LED Resource Network would enable an institution to:

• Access local economic information and professional development programs from other institutions
• Lobby for legislation or programs to provide the favorable enabling environment for local economic development
• Promote innovation and research for local economic development
• Share financial resources, equipment, facilities, or other services that are jointly acquired that individual organizations as well as develop comprehensive programs and initiatives for common goals.

It is important to note that joining a LED Resource Network is not additional work on everybody’s plates. Rather, it is delegation of an organization’s tasks and can even lead to saving time, energy, and financial resources.

This website serves as an online portal for LED Resource Networks and its members. It connects available resources online in one website. 

The LED Resource Network was conceived through the Local Governance Support Program for Local Economic Development (LGSP-LED), a collaborative program of the Governments of Canada and the Philippines managed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) which ran between 2008 and 2016. 

LGSP-LED helped DILG enable LGUs to be more Business-Friendy and Competitive so that new investments are attracted and more jobs are created in local communities.
